Sample from my sketchbook.  I do my best thinking on paper, and my sketchbooks become part planner, part journal, part practice (trying to sketch every day with two little muppets is a challenge but I'm doing my best!), and part thought-partner.  I also jot down cool lesson or project ideas and artists I think are worth researching, for teaching purposes

I have been lucky enough to work on extensive mural projects in schools over the past few decades. In high school I worked on a 25x10 foot mural that covered the side wall of our gymnasium and the rest is history!  I haven't stopped since, and now I get to spend time mentoring our Ubuntu Crew members here at Diamond.

I recently completed a Watercolor course for graduate school and it was incredible! Using watercolor is not something I'd been very comfortable with, so I knew I had to get into it and practice. Here are a few of the beauties from my final showcase portfolio.

Recently I've been getting back into my obsession with winged creatures, most especially beetles and other insects.  I enjoy studying these lil' guys and all their articulated parts.  I've been working in super subtle elements of art deco/art nouveau/steampunk to create a sense of structure and composition...

I enjoy making altered books and repurposing materials to create art...notice a trend here?!
